Contents
Per 1,000 mL Fructose 60 g, glucose monohydrate (equiv to anhydrous glucose 33 g), xylitol 30 g. Osmolarity: 690 mOsm. Energy: 500 kCal
Indications/Uses
Restoration of energy requirements w/in the scope of partial & TPN, particularly during post-aggression metabolism.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Individualized doses. Max dose: 50 mL/kg/day at max infusion rate of 4 mL/kg/hr.
Contraindications
Shock, hyperglycemia, hyperosmotic coma, acidosis, oliguria, anuria, hyperlactatemia, fructose-1,6-diphosphatase deficiency, hypokalemia, methyl alcohol poisoning, hypotonic dehydration, hyperhydration conditions eg, water intoxication.
Special Precautions
Check renal function & blood glucose levels (especially in DM) prior to use. Replace increased phosphate requirements during long-term or high-dose application.
Adverse Reactions
Febrile response, inj site infection, venous thrombosis or phlebitis, extravasation & hypervolemia.
